5 tbsp Olive Oil
3 tsp Olive Oil
2 Garlic cloves
6 flavorful tomatoes
1 Onion
8 sprigs Basil
Salt
Pepper
Sugar
Instructions
1. Slice the ciabatta into approx. 1.5 cm thick pieces and brush them with olive oil. Place the bread slices on a baking tray and toast them in a preheated oven (180 °C convection) for about 5 minutes until crispy.
2. Meanwhile, peel and halve the garlic. While still warm, rub the bread slices with the cut side of a halved garlic clove.
3.Wash the tomatoes, halve them, and remove the stem and seeds. Dice the flesh into small cubes. Peel and finely dice the onion. Wash the basil, shake dry, pick the leaves from the stems, set some aside, and slice the rest into thin strips. Mix the tomatoes, onions, and basil in a bowl. Add 3 tsp of olive oil, stir in, and season everything with salt, pepper, and 1 pinch of sugar.
4.Distribute the tomato mixture evenly over the bread slices. Garnish with remaining basil and serve immediately.
